The biggest success in Canadian organizing history

OPSEU represents community college faculty and staff and was the natural choice for the thousands of part-time support workers. But in the face of fierce management opposition, organizing had proven difficult and dragged on for 14 years.

Our work started in 2015 with the “Sign me up!” print and online campaign. It showed part-timers that OPSEU members who worked full-time and their union were behind them all the way. This message of solidarity helped convince 84% to vote to join OPSEU.
